Terms of Service

1 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Skill Aura Freelance platform ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Platform. These terms apply to all users, including freelancers, clients, and visitors.

2 Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• Only register one account per role (freelancer or client)

3 Freelancer Obligations

As a freelancer on the Platform, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information about your skills, experience, and qualifications
• Deliver work on time and to the agreed-upon specifications
• Maintain professional communication with clients
• Not engage in fraudulent or misleading practices
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Pay applicable platform fees as disclosed at the time of service creation

4 Client Obligations

As a client on the Platform, you agree to:

• Provide clear project requirements and specifications
• Fund escrow agreements before work begins
• Review and respond to deliverables in a timely manner
• Release payment for completed and approved work
• Not request work outside the scope of the original agreement without additional compensation

5 Payments & Fees

The Platform facilitates payments through secure escrow:

• A platform commission of 15% is charged on completed transactions
• Minimum payout threshold is $50
• Payments are processed via supported payment gateways (Stripe, Razorpay)
• Disputed payments are held until resolution per our Dispute Resolution Policy
• All prices are in USD unless otherwise stated

6 Intellectual Property

Upon full payment, all intellectual property rights for completed work transfer to the client unless otherwise agreed in writing. Freelancers retain the right to showcase completed work in their portfolio unless a confidentiality agreement is in place. Pre-existing intellectual property remains with its original owner.

7 Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through the Platform's built-in dispute resolution system. If mediation fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable laws. The Platform's decision on escrow fund release during disputes is final.

8 Prohibited Activities

Users may not:

• Circumvent the Platform's payment system to avoid fees
• Submit fraudulent proposals or misrepresent their identity
• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or infringing content
• Create multiple accounts to manipulate the system
• Use the Platform for any illegal purpose

9 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Outstanding financial obligations remain enforceable. You may request account deletion at any time through your account settings.

10 Limitation of Liability

The Platform acts as an intermediary between freelancers and clients. We are not responsible for the quality, timeliness, or accuracy of work performed. Our liability is limited to the platform fees collected. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11 Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
